The LTR Visa is offered to four categories of foreign individuals: Wealthy Global Citizens, Wealthy Pensioners, Work-From-Thailand Professionals, and Highly-Skilled Professionals. LTR Visa holders can also bring up to 4 family members, including their legal spouse and children under the age of 20.
Each category has different eligibility requirements, and all requirements must be satisfied in order to qualify. Wealthy Global Citizens need to have assets of at least USD 1 million and an annual income of at least USD 80,000 for the past two years. Wealthy Pensioners should be retirees aged 50 years or older with a personal income of at least USD 80,000 a year or a minimum investment of USD 250,000. Work-From-Thailand Professionals should have an annual income of at least USD 80,000 for the past two years or an annual income ranging between USD 40,000 and USD 80,000 with additional qualifications. Highly-Skilled Professionals should have an annual income of at least USD 80,000 for the past two years or an annual income ranging between USD 40,000 and USD 80,000 with additional qualifications.
Spouses and children under 20 years of age can be included as dependents in the LTR Visa application. However, same-sex marriage or partnerships are currently not recognized under Thai Law. Children will only be eligible as dependents until they reach 20 years of age.

The visa is divided into two terms of five years each, and LTR Visa holders must report their residence status to the BOI if they reside in Thailand for 365 consecutive days (1 year).
